On this page I have listed websites I have come across that are very useful and the area in which they are useful.

DOCUMENTARY  SITES

Topdocumentaryfilms.com – A website with a lot of documentaries. Most are free to watch online.

Documentaryheaven.com – Another website with a lot of documentaries uploaded and ready for viewing. A lot are free to watch here as well.

FREE ONLINE COURSES

Coursera.org  – This website offers dozens of online courses for FREE!

Ureddit.com – If you are a Reddit person you will enjoy taking or teaching free courses on this site.

Udacity.com – If you want to learn things like data analysis and webpage design here is where you want to be.

Edx.org – No joking, free online courses by some of the best universities and colleges that the U.S. has to offer. Examples: Harvard University, University of California: Berkeley, The University of Texas Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

LAW WEBSITES

LawRelatedMovies.Blogspot.com – This is a live blog devoted to listing as many law films as possible and the area of the law that they are depicting. The owner has the movies listed both alphabetically and by legal area.

LIFE HACKS

Lifehacker.com – “Life Hacks” is a term used to mean a method of making your life easier. Its a fun website with useful tips for how to improve your life at no expense.

MATH WEBSITES

Mathrun.net – This is a real simple site to play with. Its just a game. It starts with basic math and then each level you go up the questions get harder and harder.

Projecteuler.net – If you like math this is the site to be. It is loaded with challenging mathematical problems that will require some hardcore brain power to solve.

Wolframalpha.com – An excellent resources for students who are struggling with math problems or concepts. When you click on this link it will take you to a plan site with a simple instruction to follow – “Enter what you want to calculate or know about”. You type in a math equation it will solve it and then show you the steps for how to solve it. You type in something like “Algebra” and it will bring you to a page that will ask you what specifically about Algebra would you like to know.

MUSIC WEBSITES

Justinguitar.com – If you are wanting to learn how to play guitar then this a great resource! Look to the left of the website for informational tabs after you click this link.

Musictheory.net – This website offers lessons and other instruction in a variety of instruments.

Playbassnow.com – There is a lot more to being a bass player than “Smoke on the Water”. Check it out here.

Ultimateguitar.com – Another good resource site for those who are trying to pick a guitar or improve their skills.

NUTRITION/ FITNESS

MarksDailyApple.com – A good diet and exercise website with a lot of articles on how to keep yourself healthy.

RANDOM KNOWLEDGE

Ifeveryoneknew.com – This website is full of random scary information articles. For example one of the first articles I saw was on how there are only six companies in charge of all American media. For example, News Corp owns 27 television stations and over 150 newspapers.

Nowiknow.com – At first this site just looks like another “subscribe to me” nonsense newsletter site. However! I its actually a really neat site of random articles. If you click the link I provide through my site here it will take you past the nonsense “sign up” stuff and right to the archives. The author posts one article per day.

TEACHING WEBSITES

Catapultlearning.com – Great site for information on the new Common Core State Standards. Heads up though, the best information will require a log in on this site.

NCES.ED.GOV – National Center for Educational Statistics – This is a great website for data in the field of Education.

VIDEO BASED LEARNING SITES

Khanacademy.org – This website has become more and more famous each year. If you are looking for a site with convenient videos that will teach you a concept  from school quickly this is where you want to go.

TED.com – Their tag pretty much says it all. Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world. This site is almost all video clips from famous people on a variety of talks. Everything from education to art. By the way, TED stands for Technology Entertainment & Design.

Academicearth.org – Direct quote from the site = “Academic Earth believes everyone deserves access to a world-class education, which is why we continue to offer a comprehensive collection of free online courses from the world’s top universities. And now, we take learning outside the classroom with our original series of thought-provoking videos, designed to spark your intellectual curiosity and start a conversation.” Their Practical Math section even gets into how understanding math will help you take a punch! Unplugthetv.com – This site throws random learning videos at you one at a time. You clink on this link it will throw you a random educational video. Once you are done watching it click on “I Want to Watch Something Else” and it throw another video at you. They are videos on everything from “Time Travel Theory” to “Why Do We as Humans Want to Learn”.

Youtube.com/user/crashcourse.com – This is a video learning site sponsored by YouTube. The video clips are typically between 10-15 minutes. They will quickly explain a variety of topics such as: World War I, World War II, Chemistry, Physics, U.S. History. etc…

Youtube.com/user/CGPGrey – This is a youtube channel run by an individual that likes to go by the handle “Grey”. He is a very good resource. The videos cover a wide array of topics. For example since right now everyone is worried about the Debt Ceiling or wondering what it is he has made a video on it. Grey Explains Debt Ceiling.
