Chemical and Nuclear Reactions
Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:
In this unit students will develop and use models in addition to using mathematics and computational thinking. Specifically in the field of Patterns, Energy and Matter, and Types of Chemical Interactions. The goal is for a student average of 85%.
What are the uses of chemical reactions in the real world?
- Learn from mistakes
- Personal electronics only when appropriate

Today is test day for Unit 5!!!! At this point your Unit 5 should be almost done and your essay on Nuclear power vs oil should also be complete and turned in. We will review and go over anything you wish before we test today. If you are on track and have submitted Units 1-4 to me already, rock on!, when you finish Unit 5 you are done with Physical Science A. The next time I will see you is January 7th, that is, if you need the 2nd half of Physical Science.
IF YOU ARE NOT ON TRACK, you will still be attending class until all your units are turned in. Your individual Independent Study Teachers will be made aware of who is completely done and who still needs to be attending until they are all caught up. The sooner you get your units done the faster you have your time back to focus on other work before the Winter Break. Don’t forget that staying in class on Wednesday’s from 12-1 for lunch for additional help has been and will continue to be an option.
