Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:

In this unit students will investigate materials that surround us and the properties that make them suitable for usage in. Success will be measured utilizing two labs and an exam. The goal is for a student average of 85%.

Objective:

Students will be able explain the following by the end of the  lesson today:

  • The difference between atoms, elements, molecules, compounds, and mixtures.
  • What a periodic table is and how to utilize it.

Life Connection:

Students can use this information when solving problems in their lives. How so? Let’s find out!

Unit 1 was due on Wednesday last week (September 12th, 2018). It is now officially late. Refer to the Unit 1 check list below to make sure all components are present and in the correct order:

Each Wednesday I am now going to offer additional time to students who need to get caught up with their science work. I am going to stay in the classroom from 12-1 if you are behind and need help to complete your work.

Task #4 – Unit work.

Unit 2 completion. By today you should be completely done with Unit 2. Before we leave today I want to go through Unit 2 with you. Before you leave today you should have all your work done.

 

Ticket Out the Door:

At the end of today’s lesson I will be passing out Post-It notes. On the Post-It note you receive write down the most interesting thing you learned today  and the most confusing thing you heard and put it on the inside of the classroom door as you leave today.

 

Homework:

  • Finish the work remaining in Unit 2 by Monday 10-1-2018
