Warm Up:

  1. Imagine you are in law school and your professor tells you to write a brief defending a hypothetical client. You fail to do so. Perhaps you go wrapped up sharing a story about your favorite parking lot experience. Are there any real repercussions to your actions? Did you actions set the tone for your life? Why or why not?
  2. You find yourself in a situation where you were at the wrong place and wrong time. You are sitting in a holding cell waiting to see a judge. When you get to the courtroom you are assigned a public defender. You hear your public defender sharing a story from his or her past about a time they did something silly in a parking lot. When you ask your defender if the prepared or not he says “No” then tells the judge he is ready for trial. How do you think you would feel in that moment?
  3. Random Challenge (Still part of warm up) – Try to write a compelling story in only six words. (Ex: “I Leave. Dog Panics. Furniture Shopping.” – Reed)
