Task #1 (Trial & Side Assignment Reminder)

Trial #1 Prosecution (People v OJ Simpson) – Sandra’s Team

Trial #1 Defense (People v OJ Simpson) – Felix’s Team

Trial #2 Prosecution (Arkansas v Misskelley, Echols, & Baldwin) – David’s Team

Trial #2 Defense (Arkansas v Misskelley, Echols, & Baldwin) – Roberto’s Team

Task #3 (Trial Prep)

Reminder: Both of these real world cases you have chosen as a class bring about important topics we have yet to discuss. The West Memphis Three is a decent example of a case where it seems people may have been quick to judge people right after a homicide that involved three young men. The O.J. Simpson case is a good example of how to handle, or not handle, an investigation into a homicide.

Right now we are going to begin with the lesser known of the two cases. We will be looking at the West Memphis Three case. We are going to take Cornell Notes on this case first.

Video Resource -> 48 Hours: West Memphis 3

Cornell Notes Reminder:

Task #5

On a separate sheet of paper you are now going to write an academic paragraph about the West Memphis Three case.  You will be turning this paragraph in before your leave. The purpose of this paragraph is to show you understand the case, the charges, the defendants, the strengths and weaknesses of the prosecution and defense teams as well as why the court reached the verdict it did.
