Having completed our 4th round of trials we are going to try something a little different. You are all going to break into eight groups of four. You will do this in the same manner as when you had me for Criminal Behavior. Each group will have a number on the ceiling about its table in order to denote the designated number for each group.
Next up I will be giving each group several markers and a large piece of paper. On this large piece of paper please put your names on the top right corner. Now, left aligned, write the section titles you see below with plenty of room to write.
WHAT WE COULD LEARN FROM THIS CASE:
You will have 20 minutes to use your smart phones and/or Chromebooks to, as a group, find a criminal or civil case and fill out the form above. You have complete autonomy when it comes to choosing your cases.
Once your forms are complete, we are going to hang them in the front of the room. Please put your group number clearly on the poster at the top of the page.
Students you will now get a small piece of paper handed to you. On it I want you to put your name, date, and period on the top right corner. On the left side of the page please write the following:
You will now chose the top two posters you think would be the most beneficial to look try in Mock Trial. When you have made your two choices put your vote in the Ticket Out the Door Box in that back of the room.
Now we will move the desks back into normal trial groups and, by random selection, determine what groups will be prosecution and which will be defense followed by determining which groups have which case.
Just like last time, one person in the team need to click on the link below, make a copy of the template for themselves and then share the file with the rest of their team. There should be enough time left in class today before you leave to be about 20-30% done as a team writing the trial brief.
