Task #1 (GRADE REPORTS)

STEP #1

Today I am turning in grades after school. Right now I want you to go to Synergy, our online gradebook, and look over your grade to both know what is going to be reported as well as its accuracy. IF you find a problem, for example you did not receive credit for an assignment, the first thing you need to do is go to your Google account and make sure that you titled your work correctly. All assignments are to be in the same format “Period # – Your Name – Title of Assignment”. If you did not title your work it was NOT graded. In the digital world it is the same as not putting your name on your work.

STEP #2

Once you have corrected your problem you need to e-mail me at MrTylersLessons@gmail.com and list the assignments you have corrected that need to be added to your grade. To make this process go faster copy and paste the hyperlinks to these assignments into the e-mail.

Task #2 (BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS PRACTICE)

Step #1

I was not entirely satisfied with the general quality of the psychological evaluation projects you turned in before break. We are going to go back and practice some basic steps again. First thing you need to do for today’s assignment is download the Cornell Note template below.  Title it “Period # – Your Name – Cornell Notes on Kazem”

Assignment – > Cornell Notes (V2)

Step #2

image-kazem-pourghafari

We are going to look over a case on a man named Kazem “Kaz” Pourghafari. This man may or may not be involved in the death of a woman named Amanda Alley. Once we have gathered enough evidence on Kaz, in the summary portion of our Cornell notes you will decide, based on evidence, if you believe he was or was not involved.

Task #3 – PROFILING PRACTICE

Step #1 – Quick Review

Notes on Criminal Profiling

Step #2 – Activity Prep

You may work in pairs, but each student must turn in their own work. We will be looking back at a mock crime scene sketch (#3 from Crime Scene Profiling Activity). Then in pairs I want you to look at the crime scene objectively yourself and answer the following questions:

  1. – What location is the crime scene at?
  2. – What method was used to commit the homicide?
  3. – Were there any witnesses?
  4. – How many victims?
  5. – What direction are the body/bodies facing?
  6. – What evidence would you collect at the scene?
  7. – Did the event appear to be planned?
  8. – Based on the evidence only, what actions do you think the suspect took?
  9. – Provide a profile of the person law enforcement should be looking for.
