Period 2 - World History

Warm Up: Quick Write

Look at the image below. Be ready to discuss it. Question for your quick write: “Why do you think people are scared of technological changes even when they can see it would make life better?”

Agenda:

Task #1 – (Inventions of the Industrial Revolution)

Right after we finish the quick write we are going to follow the steps below for this task.

Step 1 – Decide if you want to work on your own or with a partner

Step 2 – Have one of you grab a chrome book.

Step #3 – Fold the piece of copy paper that I am going to give you into eight boxes (I will show you how to fold it in class)

Step #4 – In the top right box write your name, date, and period #.

Step #5 – In each of the seven remaining boxes you are going to use the chrome book to research other inventions of the Industrial Revolution.

Step #6 – For each invention you chose to do your going to write out the name of the invention on the top of the box, then the inventor, then sketch a quick picture of the invention below.

At the end of today’s class we are going to take a quick three question comprehension quiz regarding the Industrial Revolution.
