Task #1 –

At the beginning of class today we are going to wrap up watching “30 Days on Minimum Wage”. It’s a good example of why the idea of working a legitimate low level job right out of high school is  not very appealing to many teenagers.

Task #2 –

Organized crime is built like a pyramid with a large amount of the soldiers being made up of juveniles. Today we are going to be analyzing what are the influences that surround the average teenager already without organized crime pressure. We will be creating a web based graphic organizer on paper today to map the antecedent behaviors we already know that affect teenage offenders. There is an example below to follow.

Task #4 – Next we will be analyzing some trends in the following data. We are looking for three trends in each graph. Create a google .doc titled “Period # – Your Name – Juvenile Offender Data Observations “.

Child Incarceration Statistics 1

Gang Statistics 1

Juvenile Violent Crime Statistics

Teen Addictions Statistics

Task #5 – 4 square exercise to analyze several film clips from the series “Scared Straight”. There is an example below of what a 4 square looks like. We will be putting this four square on the back of the piece of paper we already have.
