Agenda:

Announcement:

#1. I will be on the top floor of “A” building participating in the Social Studies Teacher’s Academic Conference.

#2. Tomorrow our second group of Law & Order students will be visiting DVI. I posted a list of the people below I know have turned in their paperwork and are ready to go. If you turned in your paperwork last week when we had two places open up on the trip you will not be on the list below. This does not mean you are not going it just means I never got final confirmation you are joining us. You will probably be called tomorrow if you turned in your permission slip on time.

DVI Trip -May 17th

It is important to know there is a dress code for visiting the Correctional Facility tomorrow. I have posted it below directly from the California Department of Corrections Visitor’s Guide. If you are in violation of this dress code you will have to remain behind on campus. This dress code is taken very seriously by our hosts. Click/Tap the image below to enlarge it.

Task #1 (Read the Information Below)

READ THE DIRECTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY TODAY. YOU ARE ALL HAVING TO REPEAT FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY BECAUSE FEW PEOPLE READ THE DIRECTIONS.

On Friday I posted the following directions for the day’s online activity:

“I found old cases that were interesting and posted them to socrative.com There are 10 cases in all. Each Case I will first ask you about what you think the verdict should be in the matter and then I will tell you how the case turned out and ask you if you agree with the verdict after hearing the court’s reasoning. This means there are 20 questions in all. Remember you are to respond in an academic paragraph format. State your claim and then back it up with evidence.”

Friday’s Results -> Period 2- Mock Trial – You Be the Judge Activity v2 (5-13-2016)

Today you will be doing Friday’s activity all over again. Read through people’s responses from Friday.

There are three main points for you to realize here:

1. Do NOT ever write “IDK” or “?”. You are on a laptop. IF you do not know how to respond to a question RESEARCH it.

2. You MUST respond with no less than four sentences. People seem to have forgotten how to write academically. 1 CLAIM sentence and 3 SUPPORTING DETAIL sentences. If we once again fail this activity we will have to do it again tomorrow.

3.  BE aware that each day you are doing this assignment counts as a letter grade. Thus, if you are following the directions you are helping continue to build up your grade.

Task #2  (Today’s Task)

Now, once again go to M.Socrative.com and enter room “A89559b4” and answer the questions ACADEMICALLY.
