Steps to Trial

Today’s Objective(s):

Students will take a quiz again on the case of Oregon v Martin to test their academic knowledge of the case.

Students will develop a call list for the witness in this trial.

Warm Up (0 minutes)

There will be no warm up today. I will be off site today.

Task #1 (1 minute)

Quickly review who is playing each roll in this trial. To VIEW the SIGN UP SHEET for this trial click HERE. To actually edit the sign up sheet you will need to go through your e-mail and click the link that was sent to you.

Task #2 (OPTIONAL)

Today you will have the opportunity to take the quiz on the case of Oregon v Martin again. I will take the higher of your two scores. This task is completely optional. If you are happy with the score you think you got your welcome to move to the next task. Go to and enter room “A89559b4”. I fully expect you to talk and research the case while I am gone and have taken this into account when writing the quiz. You only have this class period to finish the quiz.

Task #3 (Mandatory)

Follow the step below:

Step #1 – Go to your google account and create a slideshow entitled “Oregon v Martin Witness Call List – Your Name.”

Step #2 – Create a title slide with the name of the project, your name, the day, and the date on it.

Step #3 – Create a slide show with one witness per slide on it.

Step #4 – Put them in the order you think your team should call them to the stand.

Step #5 – Now on each slide answer the following three questions.

What help does this witness offer your side?

How can this witness hurt you?

Why did you put that person where you did in the call list?

Step #6 – Make sure to share your work to


Yesterday I was proud of Period 2 for putting their Chromebooks away correctly (that means in the slots right side up and plugged in). As a challenge again I will add 100 points to everyone’s grade if at the end of the period you put all the chromebooks away correctly and then someone takes a picture of our cart and e-mails it to me at to prove that your class put the chromebooks away perfectly. If no photo proof is sent then no one gets the extra credit.
