Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:

Today we are beginning a new unit and will need a new S.M.A.R.T. goal. Students will help today to write their new S.M.A.R.T.  goal using the previous one they created as a reference.

At the end of this unit students have stated they will understand how structured criminal organizations originated, remain in power, how they are affiliated, strategies they implement, and how dangerous each is. Additionally, students have stated they will have developed the following skills: reading, analysis, observation, and identification. Success will be measured by four specific student developed goal oriented objectives they have designed to measure success culminating in a student developed summative project at the end of this unit.

Task #1 – (10 minutes)

Student input on the summative project for the Organized Crime Unit.

Task #2 – (15 minutes)

Cornell Notes on basic analysis of killers. The powerpoint we are going to break down is from a presentation that the Department of Justice used at several colleges.

Case Study – Stacey Castor. We will now apply our Cornell notes to analyzing this rare type of female serial killer.
