Student’s knowledge level of the U.S. juvenile justice system, in addition to that of other countries will increase by 70% by the end of this unit. Success will be determined by comparing students end of unit assessment results against those given at the beginning of the unit.

Today’s Objective:

Students will continue to learn how to define and describe how other countries have established their juvenile justice systems with the goal of lowering the recidivism rate of their offenders that are minors. Time permitting today we will also be appraising the value of each of these systems.

Task #1

Yesterday you practiced for the first time developing questions about a topic. Today, after the warm up, you will be going to m.socrative.com again and answering 10 questions that your peers in period 3 developed yesterday. Not only will this make us think, but it will also be a good example of how these questions should be written for those that are still confused.

Next we are going to finish up looking at how other countries have been addressing their juvenile offenders.

Task #3

With our Cornell notes available from Task #2 on other countries juvenile justice systems, we are once again going to write four Costa’s Level 3 style questions, but this time about juvenile justice systems from around the world. Create a google doc entitled “Costa’s Questions – Juvenile Justice Systems – Period 3 – Your Name”.

  1. Mr Tyler I was out today I had a family emergency Friday as well i asked Maylin about what you guys did and she said we had an essay i read today’s topic on here but I’m not sure what the writing is about ?

    • Read over the lesson plan from Friday and today online. At the end of the lesson plan today it outlines by paragraph how to tackle the essay. If your still confused go ahead and post here again or email me.

      • I did and like I don’t get it since I missed that day too 😭 Can i just talk to u about it tomorrow in class and I’ll get the essay done tomorrow too ?
