Prison Development & Design
Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:
Students will be able to recognize the different correctional methodologies prisons around the world use when attempting to modify inmate behavior and formulate solutions to the weaknesses they identify in each system.
- Students will understand that design flaws will always plague prison layout.

Warm Up (5 minutes)
I am going to skip the warm up today to make more room for the activity.
Task #1 – (45 minutes)
Prison Design – Yesterday everyone should have created their account and began playing with some basic designs for their prison. Today we are going back to the website TinkerCad.com Login using the password and e-mail that you gave it yesterday and begin working on your prison design. When you have finished let me know and I will show you how you are going to save and share your work to me. Take a look at the resource below for more prison information and designs.
Task #2 – (20 minutes)
Once you have completed and shared your prison design with me I want to give you more classroom computer time to work on your comparison essays that are going to be due by tomorrow. For more information about that assignment see the homework section below.
Prison Comparison Essay (DUE: 2-19-2016)
Now that we have seen the differences in how Russia and the United States we are going to write a compare and contrast essay. You will write this essay in google docs and share it to MrTylersLessons@gmail.com. Make sure to title it “Prison Systems Comparison Essay – Period 3 – Your Name”. This essay will be due by Friday (2-19-2016)
