Serial Killers

Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:

Students will be able to behaviorally analyze a killer without teacher’s assistance with 80% accuracy in 4 of 5 trials.

Today’s Objective:

Students will apply their recently gained knowledge for analyzing a person’s behavior to the case of the Salk Lake City Bombings. They will be using a grid base and form to do their analysis. Success will be measured on how successful they are at stating their analysis and backing it up with evidence from the case. This is day #2 of this goal as we ran out of time on Friday.

Behavioral Norms (Student Developed):

  3. “Only one person is allowed to talk at a time” – Charles (22 votes)

One-on-One Murder, Modus-Operandi, signature, characteristics, antecedent behavior


Task #1 – Quick Quiz – “What are the similarities and differences between a visionary and a disciple style killer?”

Task #2 – Quick recap on the Salt Lake City Bombing introduction from Friday.

Task #3 – Finish filling out the killer analysis form.

Task #4 – Pratice writing introductions for reports

Task #5 – Comparison – Caster, Seda, and Hoffman.


Serial Killer/ Mass Murderer Project – Several students asked for the instructions for the unit project so that they could begin. I have attached them to the lesson plan today for those of you who want to start early. This project is due 4-17-2015.
