Organized Crime

Unit S.M.A.R.T. Goal:

Students will be able to identify and distinguish the differences between the origins, businesses, terminology, and mentalities of the following organized crime organizations: Russian Mafia, Yakuza, Mexican Cartel, and La Cosa Nostra in 3 of 4 formative assessment trials with 80% accuracy.

Today’s Objective:

Today students will review the material they have learned on organized crime before we move onto the next unit by filling out a graphic organizer on their own that shows they have a basic working knowledge of the names, locations, illegal investments, and unique facts about each of the four largest criminal organizations on Earth today.

#1 – We are going to make a comparasion grid to compare what we have learned about the Russian Mafia, Yakuza, Mexican Cartels, and Cosa Nostra. You will be tell me on the grid the most basic information about each of these groups. These will include:

#2 – After you have finished lets review all the information together as a class.

#3 – We are now going to vote on the following question:

“Do you want to continue learning about the mafia? (Organized Crime)”
