Task #1 – We will be setting up a triangle shaped graphic organizer for today’s material. We have looked at Cosa Nostra and Los Zetas (Mexican Cartel), now we will be going to the east and the country of Japan to look at the YaKuZa clans.

Task #2 – While you are setting up your graphic organizers we can look at a brief project that Criminal Behavior students from Fall 2014 put together to briefly explain who the YaKuZa are. These students took an already created powerpoint on the YaKuZa, reformatted it, and boiled the information down so it can work as a quick history and function of the YaKuZa clans.

Downloadable File -> History of the Yakuza (Group 4)

Task #3 – The titles for two of your sides of the triangle are “Cosa Nostra” and “Los Zetas”. I want you to list information that is unique to these two groups on their respective sides of the triangle. The center will be saved for only things that all three organized crime groups have in common.

Task #4 – Now before I show you a piece of a documentary on the YaKuZa lets do a little verbal compare and contrast between a similarity between the Los Zetas and the YaKuZa Clans. Lets also think about why the Cosa Nostra members dont do this. You can click on the image below to enlarge it.

Task #5 – We are going to be looking at a piece of documentary on the YaKuZa. Continue to fill in your graphic organizer as we get more information.
