Note from Mr. Tyler –
Yesterday was your first day doing Socrative solo and for the most part people either got the hang of it or found where they were having trouble. Today I will be having you do the same questions as yesterday, BUT I want you to follow directions this time. Your responses will only be in four sentences or more and in academic language and format. This means I want to see a minimum of four sentences that are showing a well thought out answer prior to responding. I posted your work from yesterday to the website (look below the agenda section) so you can see what was turned in. Other issues included: grammar, spelling, and punctuation. There were several answers to each question which are good, but just need formatting work. Today please take your time and go through each question. Many of you already know what you want to say so just focus on making sure its four sentences, spelling is correct, as well as grammar and punctuation. Lastly, if you are going to do only the paper answers to these questions then you do not need to login to the site. Ask the sub for the questions, hand write your answers, and hold them till I see you guys again.
Step 1 – Students will be doing the tasks listed below today in class. They have already practiced doing these tasks once before when I was there. Please read the italicized tasks below to them just in case they have forgotten.
Task #1 – Form into groups of four.
Task #2 – One person in the group will be the “Technician” and have a cell phone that can access “m.Socrative.com”. The other three members of the group will need lined paper and they will need to write their names on the top right of this paper.
Task #3 – Once you figure out your group’s technician have them go to “m.socrative.com” and enter the room number: a89559b4
Task #4 – Now have the technician enter the first name and last initial of each person in the group. (Run out of room? Shorten the names down further. I want to know who is working with who)
Task #5 – The Technician with the phone will read the questions that pop up to the group and the students with the paper will copy down the questions and write down their responses to the questions.
Task #6 – Talk about your responses as a group and have the technician type in your agreed upon response and hit “Submit”. Do this for every question that comes up. I will be monitoring your responses remotely to see how fast and slow each group is moving.
Task #7 – When you finish the questions the technician will hit “logout” on the top right of their screen. The group members who wrote down their responses will hand them in.
