Students will become familiar with mental disorders commonly associated with criminal behavior and apply this knowledge to diagnosing fictional characters.
Task #1 – Quick quiz on yesterday’s material
Task #2 – Review features of MrTylersLessons.com
Task #3 – Lets take a look at some Costa’s Level III questions developed by some students to analyze H.H. Holmes’s behavior and attempt to answer them.
Question #1 – “What is the theme behind his murders?” – Davon M.
Question #2 – “Why do you think H.H. Holmes experimented on people?” – Christian S.
Question #3 – “What examples can you find to support the belief that H.H. Holmes planed on using his castle for hiding bodies?” – Haley W.
Question #4 – “Based on what you know how would you explain the psychological state of H.H. Holme’s mind?” – Rashawn G.

Task #4 – Now we will be introduced to Psychiatric Disorders Associated With Criminal Behavior (Version 3). On a piece of regular paper, folded hot dog style, we will be making a brief list of common disorders and noting some fictional examples for each.
Task #5 – Students will set up a paper to take observational data on a fictitious character named Prot. We will be using a Cornell note taking style approach.
Task #6 – After viewing the video clips of Prot you will be diagnosing him with a mental disorder(s). We will be using the Chavez Academic Paragraph Writing Format. Your diagnosis paragraph will be evaluated by yourself and a peer using the CCHS Academic Writing Rubric.
Review your material from today for another exercise tomorrow.
