Criminal Behavior HeaderTopic:

Organized CrimeThe Triad (Chinese Mafia)

Objective:

Students will be questioning introductory material to the San Francisco Chinese Organized Crime groups known as the Tongs.

Agenda:

Task #1 – Form into your groups of 4.

Task #2 – Each person will need a piece of paper. Label your paper. “Criminal Behavior – Semester 1 Memories”

Task #3 – One at a time we will name the units we studied in the first semester. After we name a unit each group will be given five minutes to be able to recall as much information about that unit as possible. We will do this for each of the six units we studied last semester.

Task #4 – Go ahead and turn your desks around again so everyone is facing front.

Task #5 – Now you will need one piece of notebook paper. Once you have it out fold it into Cornell note style paper.

Task #6 – Using Costa’s Levels of Thinking and Questioning each of you will develop one level three question for today’s introductory material to Chinese Organized Crime.

Task #7 – We will watch a brief introductory video from the History channel on the Chinese Organized Crime groups known as the Tongs from San Francisco.

Go to m.socrative.com, type in room name “a89559b4″, then type in your first name and last initial. Answer the questions that follow and hit “submit”. Then log out. Today’s teacher question: “What was the most interesting thing you saw in today’s introduction to the Chinese Mafia?”

Review the material from class today. Make sure you have your Cornell note style paper ready for tomorrow’s class.
