TODAY’S TOPIC –

Money & Banking

TEACHING OBJECTIVE –

Students will review some basics about money, its history, and the history of banking through textual analysis.

TEACHING AGENDA –

Today I will have to be in Jury Duty. While I am gone I want you to form up into groups. Each group will grab one of the yellow Economics books in the back of the room on the shelf. After acquiring a book I want each group to go to CH 10 – Money and Banking. As a group read through the first three sections and answer the review questions at the end of each section. Each person must have their own paper and answers. Be ready for a quiz when I get back on this material.

Serial Killer Introduction

TEACHING OBJECTIVE –

Students will gain a basic understanding of famous serial killers and why they became the humans they did by forming in groups in doing independent research.

TEACHING AGENDA –

Today I will have to be in Jury Duty. While I am gone I want you to form up into groups. In each group one person must have an internet usable cell phone. In each group I want you to research serial killers. After researching a few I want you to pick one. After you have selected one I want each person to get out their own piece of paper and write down the following information about that particular serial killer only:

  1. Name:
  2. Location:
  3. Most famous for:
  4. Dates active:
  5. Caught by:
  6. How they were discovered:
  7. Trial information: (how did they plea? Guilty, not guilty, insanity)
  8. Sentence (death row? 30 years?)
  9. Motive:
  10. Method of killing:
  11. Confirmed number of victims:

Once every person has all this information only one member of the group needs to e-mail it to me. In the e-mail I want the names of the people you worked with and the answers to these questions. This e-mail must be received by 8:00 PM tonight to receive credit for this portion of the assignment. Once I have received it I will e-mail you back saying I received it.
