TODAY’S TOPIC – Demand

TEACHING OBJECTIVE – Understanding the Law of Demand through activities that cause students to use critical thinking skills to asses a business scenario.

C.C.S.S. STANDARDS ADDRESSED –  RH 11-12.3 – Evaluate various explanations for actions or events and determine which explanation best accords with textual
evidence, acknowledging where the text leaves matters uncertain.

LIFE CONNECTION –  Understanding the Law of Demand helps not only C.E.O.’s (Chief Executive Officers) make money in large corporations like Target, but it can also help girl scouts be more profitable when selling their cookies.

TEACHING OBJECTIVE – Fighting organized crime

C.C.S.S. STANDARDS ADDRESSED –  WHST 9-10.9 – Draw evidence from informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research.

LIFE CONNECTION – Fighting organized crime is important because it helps make the world a safer and healthier place.

TEACHING AGENDA –

Today students will be exploring methods the U.S. Government uses to fight organized crime. We will be looking at six options specifically. Students will identify the strengths and weaknesses to each option. After this students will pick three of the options and write a brief essay as to why they believe those three options would be the most effective in fighting organized crime.

HOMEWORK – Review today’s material for a quiz tomorrow.
